I am sure that when Cade saw this jar filled with bright red wrapped little cubes he thought he was getting something sweet or chocolaty not salty and beefy! Nonetheless he had them all unwrapped and at least half of them had been slobbered on. Good thing the jar was almost empty.

I was off today and took the kids out this morning in the stroller for a little walk/run. Avery was mad when I put her in there and Cade was mad because he wanted to sit in Avery's side. Once I started moving though Avery fell asleep and Cade was busy telling me to go faster, faster. This was the best picture I took of them together, and I took a lot of pictures. Someone was either blinking, looking away, kicking up her feet or the sun ruined the shot. Oh well.
Avery was mad here, but fell asleep as soon as we started moving. So at least she seemed to enjoy the ride. Cade kept wanting to get out. I let him out twice, but then of course he didn't want to walk with me he wanted to play in the ditch and pick flowers. Sigh
Cade was trying to clip my toenails without much luck today.

Rainey has kittens.

Rance bottle fed Rainey last year for almost three months. Maybe not that long but it sure seemed like it. We got her from Jami. She was one of her numerous barn orphans. Now she has babies and is being a very good momma. Here is Cade helping me feed her. Below is her two babies. Thankfully only two, however, both girls! Anyone want a kitten or two?
Here is Cade helping Rance water trees. Rance has been busy outside all weekend. I am on call this weekend so he has to stay around to babysit if I get called in. I don't like being on call, but these weekends are fun since we get in a lot of fun family time. So far this weekend I haven't worked at all. It is prime trauma season and the last couple weekends they have been very busy so this is nice!

Hailstorms and Rainbows

Wednesday night we had a hail storm. The hail was pretty good sized and came down pretty thick. When the hail was down the rain came down in buckets for about five minutes. Afterwards there was a double rainbow. It was so pretty but I couldn't capture the whole thing with my camera. So I took a picture of both halves. Jami took some pictures of some crazy looking clouds
after the storm but we never saw them!

It's just so frustrating!

I brought the walker back upstairs for Avery. SHe isn't quite ready for it, but Cade thought he should be in it.. except he kept getting stuck or trying to put both legs in one leg hole.

Playtime with Avery

Avery really gets into playing on the floor sometimes. I finally got a few pictures of her playing with her feet.

Sunny Tuesday!

Avery was busy taking her morning nap so Cade and I snuck out to enjoy the beautiful weather this morning. We watered all of the trees in the front of the house and found two frogs in the process! Cade wasn't sure what to think about "rogs" The hopping threw him off a little bit. The picture above where he is squatting down he has a frog cornered. He was a big helper watering. I pulled the hose over to a tree, then he would say "I do, I do" and have to hold the hose for me. He did it ten or so times before it was no longer fun and moved on to the next thing.

Later in the day when Avery was awake, I was changing her diaper and playing with her on the floor when I realized a significant amount of time had passed since I had seen Cade. I found him happily playing in the toilet, OH GREAT! He was wet the floor was and and the toilet was full of toilet paper. Upon closer inspection I discovered it was also full of rags pushed down as far as he could get them in the toilet! Gross, I had to pull them out, I think I got them all. The toilet flushes fine anyway.
He is big on talking in the phone now. We have to call someone at least once a day. We usually call Dad. If he doesn't answer we call Jami. He is getting good at saying Aunt Jami. Today he mastered Grandpa, sort of, so we called Grandpa up to say hello. Cade was rewarded for his efforts when Grandpa Mike came up to say hi and brought him some hershey kisses. Yummy

Lil Miss Avery

Avery is getting very good at rolling over from her tummy to her back. She only gets from her back to her side though, she doesn't make it all the way over. Soon enough! Her sispy little hairs are alway wild. Here is a picture of her and her Dad on father's day.

Happy Baby

Avery is turning into a very happy baby and is so much fun. Which in case you were wondering is not how she started out. She was a very needy high maintenance kind of girl. She is starting to giggle more and had found her feet! She grabs them with her hands and rolls onto her side, gets startled she is on her side, lets go and starts over. I am trying to get a picture of her holding her feet but she keeps letting go when she sees me with the camera.

Daddy's Big Helper

Cade was out helping Rance in the skid steer and was so entertained that he fell asleep. He is so excited every day when his Dad gets home so he can go outside and play with Dad. This other picture was Cade eating his cereal and as you can see doing what
he does very well... making a mess!

Mama's Helpers

Avery was on the counter so of course Cade had to be also. As well as Cade's monkey and blanket.

Cade's New Big Boy Bed

Cade got a big boy bed from Erin BeQuette that I work with her boy grew out of it. Cade was pretty excited about it as you can see. He thinks it is a pretty great place to play in. He isn't too sure about sleeping in it though. I am going to let him get used to it before we try that. Then Avery gets to move out of the bassinet and into the crib! or should I say out of Mom and Dad's bed and into the crib. She probably sleeps 75% of the night snuggled up to me.

After the lawn mower and fence.

Rance has been really busy outside and it shows. He put up more fence in the back and mowed and ran the weedeater around the place. It looks great!

Before the lawnmower and Fence

Rance has been very busy this weekend mowing the lawn and building some more femce in the backyard. It looks really nice and makes it look like more of a home instead of a house in the middle of the field. I will be posting after pictures by the end of the weekend!

Fun Outside

Cade really likes to play outside. Here are a few pictures of him enjoying the nice weather. Rainy and Cisco were having a good time too.

Cade and Supper

Here are some fun pics of Cade playing around. We were watching for Dad to come home for supper and playing a little bit of peekboo. I made rhubarb custard meringue pie and it turned out really yummy. It was the first time I have ever attempted a meringue (way easier then I thought it was going to be). I got the recipe from my Grandma Betty. We also had corn on the cob. I didn't think it would be good since it seems so far out of season but walmart must have imported it from somewhere as it was delicious. The rest of the menu was rounded out with some fettucine alfredo with
broccoli and cauliflower and marinated rib steaks. Rance was happy. I haven't cooked good like that in a while. The kids slept all afternoon so I just kept cooking and cleaning!

One Cool Dude!

We took the kids to town Sunday to get a weedeater, diapers and eat at MCDonalds. Cade was pretty excited about eating at McDonalds, he even got a happy meal with a toy car inside and a chocolate shake!

Avery's Four Month Checkup

Poor little Miss Avery had to go get shots this morning. Cade spent the morning at the Fandek's house so I think he probably had a better time then Avery did. She is 24 and 3/4 inches and weighs 12 lbs 5 oz. She is in the 80th percentile for height and 25th for weight. Which is right about where Cade always is. I have tall skinny babies! Cade was 15 lbs and 26 1/4 inches at four months old. Avery is very petite in comparison, but is growing big!I got her a bumbo chair today. they are supposed to be very good for babies in developing core muscle strength at sitting up. Apparently they are recommended by physical therapists. I no sooner had it in the house and set on the floor and Cade had already decided it was his. I had to wait until he got out to sit Avery in it, which made Cade want to sit in it again.

Carter and JAmi came over and Carter had to sit in it, which of course made Cade want to sit in it. they were fighting like brother and sister over it and well everything else Carter wanted to play with. After they left I put both kids down for a nap. They were both worn out from their mornings.

Grandma Betty sent me home with some rhubarb so I am going to attempt to make a pie out of it. She also sent me a recipe so hopefully I can make it work.
