Avery and Outside

Avery is a very busy little girl and if she hears the word outside or sees anyone getting ready to go out she is hightailing it to the mudroom to get her boots and coat on too. Sometimes she will just bring you her boots so you know she wants to go outside now please! If she discovers she is going to be left inside the house she gets very upset and throws a little tantrum. Last weekend was beautiful out and I took her out while Cade was sleeping.

She played with the little gravel rocks around the house. Put them in piles on the stairs and threw them around.

She gave the wagon her best go, but it was hard to pull forward with a railroad tie in front of it.

We had to go and pet the horse and then of course ride it.

And take some time out to pose for a picture with DaD!

Easter Eggs

Cade was very excited about getting to dye Easter eggs this morning

We had to take a picture of the eggs sitting in the dye.

Hard at work!

Joe's wedding reception

Chase was unhappy. Avery kept giving him hugs and he would cry and the harder he cried the more whe wanted to hug him. He wasn't appreciating her love!!

Joe and Karen cutting the cake

Avery playing outside. It was beautiful out and all the kids wanted to do was play outside of course. So I spent most of the reception outside chasing Cade and Avery around.

Avery was tired and not happy about being left behind while her mom and dad went to go dance.

Cade and Grandpa no doubt looking for some more M&M's

"That's Fun Mom!"

Cade thought jumping on the bed with Avery was a lot of fun!

Avery was getting a big kick out of it too!

Rance was laying on the floor and so of course the kids saw this as a great opportunity to hop on.
I think Avery is trying to make sure he doesn't fall asleep!

Although Cade was sure he was riding his horse with a gun hunting big bears I

thought it looked like he was practising for a joust. His imagination is getting very big and very fun!

Putting on Socks

Avery was very determined to put on her own socks after her bath tonight. There were some cuter pictures but they were to racy for the blog and for some reason they wouldn't upload to the blog after I edited them with stars over her unmentionables so you get the idea from these pictures.

She tried very hard to get her sock on but never did quite get it figured out!

My little cowpokes

Cade was being scary. "Mom you be scared" he told me. As you can see he is pretty scary with his wild hair.

Avery playing peekaboo. She is into pekaboo right now but not for the camera. I was lucky to get this side shot.

Cade and Avery were going for a ride together on their horses this morning. Of course getting them to both smile at the same time didn't work at all!

Avery and diaper paste

Avery tried to eat a tube of diaper paste. I don't think she thought it tasted as good as she had hoped for. She had it all over her hands as well. Speaking of diaper stuff I have been able to convince Avery to lay down for her diaper changes a couple of times although about half the time she makes it halfway through the change and decides to get moving. Not very convenient with a poopy diaper!

Cade's Very Busy Day

Cade's favorite breakfast lately is pancakes. I make him pancakes at least for times a week. He watched a video of Carter singing happy birthday and has been watching a video about birthdays so this morning we had to sing happy birthday before he would eat his pancake. We took leftover lasagna down to my Dad's house for lunch today and Cade nearly fell asleep on the way down so we kept the visit short as we still had to make a stop at Aunt Gwyn's house. She watched the kids for me while I went for a run. I brought the kids home and put him down for a nap he sorely needed, but by then he was catching a second wind and was quite sure he was no longer tired. Later just before supper time it started raining and he insisted he had to go "have fun in the rain" well he did until it started hailing!

This is Cade running in out of the hail. He was not impressed. So I made him some hot chocolate while supper finished cooking. He was pretty sure he didn't like supper and before Rance and I were done eating Cade was fast asleep. We carried him to bed when we were done with supper and he has been sleeping ever since. I suspect we will see him in the morning but not before!

Avery on going outside and diaper changes

Avery is really starting to enjoy playing outside and if she sees anyone else going outside she lets it be known she also needs to go outside to play. She brings me her coat and puts her arms out. Here she was playing in Cade's sandpile with some of his toys. We have been trying to take advantage of the nice weather before it turns cold and stormy again. What a strange winter. Warm cold warm cold ugh I am ready for spring already!

Below is a picture of Avery and Rance getting ready to go outside. Her coat was in the wash so she wore Cade's blue puff coat since he was sleeping.

I have been struggling with Avery lately to get her diapers changed and her clothes on. She seems to have no time for it and I really have to struggle to get her changed while she is kicking, wriggling, squirming, screaming, crying, and generally just plain throwing a fit. Not too fun but I remember Cade doing this too. So I figured it was just part of the deal and she did that for everyone. I was dropping the kids off at Landa's the other day when Landa said to me "Boy Avery is really obsessed with getting her diaper changed!" I thought WHAT!? I thought surely she meant Avery acts obsessed when she gets her diaper changed so I stopped and asked Landa to clarify please. Apparently Avery goes to the diaper bag, brings Landa a diaper, lays down and serenely lets Landa change her diaper. Sometimes she wants it changed repeatedly in a manner of minutes. Sigh So I have been trying to sweet talk Avery into diaper changes thinking my my approach was all wrong but to no avail. No amount of toys, sweet talk, game playing, giggle talk has been able to convince the little turd that she wants to have her diapers changed for me without a battle. Sigh
