Cade's New Cowboy Hat!

Cade was all excited to go to town with me on Saturday and go grocery shopping and also to look for a new cowboy hat. We had so much fun in town together. Avery went and spent the afternoon with Grandma Debbie and Grandpa Mike playing so it was just Cade and I. We went to Shipton's first and found a couple cowboy hats for him to try on. He would put on a hat and just grin at himself in the mirror. He knew right away when he tried on this on it was the one he wanted and he was not to be persuaded any other way. I must say he looks pretty handsome in it and charmed ladies in Walmart and Costco the rest of the afternoon. We even went and had a cheeseburger at McDonalds. He was pretty worn out and then slept all the way home.

He even decided Avery could have his old hat as it was too small for him!

Pigtails!!

i finally got Avery's hair coaxed into pigtails. It is remarkably harder than I thought it should be. If she would hold still and not move at all it would be a tad easier. It seemed like everytime I got the rubber band just about around her hair she would turn her head and all the little hairs would slide from my grasp and aack I would have to start combing them all together all over again, but I got them in and how cute!

Still getting into trouble!

Avery was playing outside and despite it being pretty nice out she really wanted her hat on, so we put it on. Notice her little pink Grandpa Mike getter sweatshirt. It looks really good on her when she is playing on her new Grandma Dee getter John Deere tractor. Cade also got a tractor and they think they are pretty cool. Pictures to follow.

Some Easter Pics

we had Easter dinner a day early at my parents house. THe kids of course had an Easter egg hunt. Avery, Cade and Everett had to put the eggs in their mouth of course. The kids had fun.

The cousins except for Keenan. It is not an easy task to get them all to look at the camera and to smile at the same time. Not very cooperative kids.

Cade didn't want me to take a picture of him, but he would let me take a picture of his eggs in the bucket.

Easter Sunday we went to Huntley and had dinner with family and of course another easter egg hunt outside that was a big hit with all the kids. Cade and Avery were both happy to get one egg and sit down to see what was inside. Soon enough they will learn to delay the gratification of opening the egg in order to get as many eggs as possible first!

Enjoying the spring weather!

I found a pair of little wranglers that were Cade's. They have an elastic waistband so they were able to stay up over Avery's little butt with no problems plus she looked super cute in them and her little muck boots.

Going for a wagon ride. Note Cade's shiny new gun. I got him a pair of six shooters with a two holster belt. The belt is a little big and the guns fall out of the holsters when he runs, but the guns are a big hit.

Avery got a pinwheel from her Grandpa Harlen in the easter basket he sent and the kids had a fun time with it out in the wind.

It looks like they are getting ready to plant a flag on top of the ramp and claim it for their own!

Avery's Dance Moves

Cade

Cade was busy roping outside Sunday.

He caught a big one!

Every cowboy needs a horse!

A Neat Sunset

The way the sun was setting behind the clouds the other night looked really cool. I thought it made it look like there were three suns setting instead of just the one.

Fun with boxes

I went to Costco and came home with some boxes that the kids immediately climbed into and were content to play in for about twenty minutes which gave me enough time to get supper ready!

Gotta have milk!

The Shrine Circus

Cade has been so excited to go to the circus of course we have really been talking it up for him. He even believed me when I told him I heard he couldn't go to the circus unless he had a haircut so he finally happily let me cut his hair. He couldn't wait to see the elephants and ride the elephants until he saw just how big they really are in real life and he couldn't be convinced to take a step towards them at all. He did get to do the pony ride with Avery. They both seemed to think that was great and I had to peel Avery off her pony.

Carter rode the elephant this year! We made it all the way through until intermission and it all fell apart so home we went!! Maybe next year we will make it through the whole show

All bundled up!

It seems to be an endless cycle of snowing and then having a few really nice days and then going back to the cold. SO we are all weary of mud , mud, and cold! Ready for the sunshine and nice 50-70 degree weather of spring.

What a sweet brother! Notice how he holds his sucker back so she isn't tempted to grab it! Avery has a great time splashing in the mud puddles and eating snow although when she is all bundled up she has a hard time getting back up and won't keep her mittens on. Cade also loves to get outside every chance he gets and drags Rance on all kinds of adventures with hide and seek and shooting big bears!
