Fun in the Sun

We went to a BBQ at a friend's house on Sunday and the kids had a pretty good time. There was a great swing set with even a swing for Avery she thought it was terrific.

Ice Cream

The ice cream sandwich Cade had was a big hit with him.

Sleepy Girl!

Clearly Avery is over the party!

She is one sleepy girl all folded over and conked out!

Everett comes a visiting!

Corrine brought back my maternity clothes last night, no I am not planning to use them again! Avery thought Everett was pretty darn cute, but he was tired and cranky. None of the kids were interested in posing for the photo!

I combed Avery's hair down last night and she looked rather cute so we took a picture with her and her brother. the best part about the picture was the very unexpected thumbs up she gave me while looking right at the camera. Too funny! The bottom picture is Avery standing and "walking" which she is very determined to do. it is however hard on your back for any length of time.

Breakfast Buddies

Cade and Rance having a bowl of cereal and some milk! It is hard to believe my little boy is going to be two years old in three weeks and Avery will be seven months old in about a week. They aren't kidding when they say time flies... whoever they are! Avery is getting to active, wanting to be into everything and put everything into her mouth. i wasn't missing that at all it was so nice when Cade grew out of that. My Dad got was at the state skeet shoot in Missoula this last weekend at got state champion. Congrats to my Dad!! He seems pretty pleased with himself as he should be.
Rance helped precondition some of the cows on Monday. They are doing it again tomorrow except Rance has to go to the Pryor Mountains for work. I am off tomorrow so I think I will take Cade and Avery up to check out the action for a little bit. Cade will think that is pretty neat I'm sure. He likes cows and horses. He won't wear anything except his cowboy boots and cowboy hat anymore. if he sees his wranglers he has to put those on too. He has discovered how incredibly useful pockets are and has been putting rocks, thankfully not bugs in them.

Dunn Mountain Fire

I went to throw the cat outside last night and was amazed at the glow coming from the Dunn Mountain Fire which is burning 40 miles northeast of Billings. Extreme wind conditions last night and yesterday helped the fire spread along 15 miles. It was so pretty in the dark, but at the same time I really felt for all of the landowners in its path, how scary for them and their animals. This picture of course is no where near what it really looked like. Aunty Linda called us up last night to make sure we saw it too. This morning at 5 am the glow was gone and the bottom picture is of the same view this afternoon, lots of smoke!

What is funner than a box!

Grandma Howell, Carter's Grandma, sent Avery a box of clothes and of course Cade thought the box a great place to play hide and seek in. Riley and Dustin were over earlier this week and they had a great time playing with it also.

Avery Sits By Herself

Avery is able to sit by herself for very short periods of time. It won't be long before she is mobile... YIKES! I had to post the picture below because of the way it makes Avery's hair look like she has a mohawk. Cade is busy watching a movie. I am on call this weekend so we are just hanging out and taking it easy!

Avery meets the horses

The kids and I were out enjoying the evening earlier this week. I tried to take a picture of Avery with the horses because she was quite fascinated with them, but it was hard to do while I was holding her. The horses were also quite taken with her.

Cade Goes to the Fair

Rance took Cade to the fair yesterday so I sent the camera along and this is basically what I got in return. Sounds like they had a pretty good time though. Went on a few rides and saw some animals,...fair stuff. Avery and I stayed home, I didn't think she would enjoy the fair very much this year although next year should be big fun for us all.

Not much exciting going on here just work at work and work at home! Vashti came over Friday and helped. We went to town and got groceries, Cade helped Grandpa change a tire and Avery went to Grandma Betty's while Vashti and I got groceries.

Jami and Carter's Baby shower

Carter was very excited about all her baby shower gifts and informed us fer baby wasn't done cooking yet. Notice her new haircut, she discovered scissors cut hair recently and this is the fix job.
Jami also got some great gifts and lots of diapers for her baby due in September which is also when Carter's baby is due!
I even attempted a cake!

Roly Poly Avery

Avery is getting very good at rolling over. here she was just being very smiley and giggly playing on the floor.

This is Cade making sure he gets every last drop of ice cream he can out of the container. He likes ice cream!

Cade Amusing Avery

Avery is quite taken with Cade and as you can see finds him very amusing. She thinks her big brother is great.

6 Months Old!

Avery had her six month shots on Tuesday. Poor Avery! She is 26 1/2 inches tall and weighs 14 lbs and 9 oz. She has grown seven inches since she was born! She is still in the 25th percentile for weight and the 80th for height. Tall and skinny just like her brother....I wonder where they get it from!!? She is rolling around really good these days and is all grabby with her hands wanting to explore everything and anything. She loves watching the cats and dog run around. When she is on her back she can scoot around a bit. Definitely not safe on a high surface anymore. She had done good with sweet potatoes, squash, rice cereal and last night ate all her peas! She still isn't a great napper like Cade always has been, but she does better.
Her hair is getting so fluffy, I can't wait for little pigtails..so cute!

Peanut butter

I caught Cade eating peanut butter in the living room, YIKES! He didn't get any on the carpet though. p till now he hasn't like peanut butter very well, maybe he was just waiting for me to give in and buy the creamy not the crunchy kind! And as always lately he has to have on his hat and his boots.

Painting

I took this week off of work to paint the interior of my house. I have been wanting to paint ever since I moved in so this was very exciting. Sunday I started taping everything off and while the kids were at Landa's I painted the kitchen on Monday. Cade loved the tape up on everything he thought it was very pretty. "WOW, pretty" The kitchen is now a brick red. A lot darker and much more dramatic than the white it has been. I have had two years to think about what color to paint it and was still very much undecided when I bought the paint. I started with a light green and put some on the wall Sunday. Hated it. Called Wynne to get a third opinion (maybe I was being paranoid about hating it) Nope she hated it too. After looking at some samples I had brought home we agreed the red would be neat. So Monday morning it was off to town to get more paint. Avery's room is going to be green now. I bought the brick color and just started painting, luckily I LOVE IT. It is a very warm cozy feeling. I don' t have any before pictures but you have all seen my kitchen.
Wednesday I painted the living room and Cade's room and today I am cleaning and touching up the paint job. The living room is a dark chocolate pudding and cade's room is "latte". For now I am done painting, but I still have Avery's room, my room, the two bathrooms, and the utility room. I will have to take off another week to get those done. I am pretty over painting for a while though.
Plus Cade got some cool cowboy decals to put on the wall
