Sledding with no snow

The kids pulled the sled out and conned first me and then Rance into pulling them around the field by the rope attached to the sled.

It is pretty hard work, especially when they keep wanting you to go faster and faster!

Cade and Carter getting ready to blow out the candles at their big birthday party

Cade and Torston Loftsgard bug hunting. we threw well over a hundred little plastic bugs all over the lawn.

Grandma Pat made the kids a great caterpillar cake.

All the kids out bug hunting. We had a great turn out for the party and I think everyone seemed to have a really good time.

Avery and I.

Cade was so excited about is birthday and the party.

The highlight of the party for a Avery was a draw between getting a baby doll and finding a great mud puddle to splash in.

The birthday kids. Cade turned 3 and Carter is now 4! Hard to believe how fast time flies sometimes.

Jami, Chase and Robert.

Happy 3rd Birthday Cade

In the weeks leadng up to his birthday if you asked Cade what he wanted for his birthday he would quite confidently tell you he was getting a black cowboy hat. So Rance and I looked all over Billings and found him his little heart's desire. Also some Tigger jams cuz he really likes Tigger. He got many other great gift, toys and jammies. A great birthday!

Avery also made out very well. She got several babies, clothes, and a really great lantern.

Exploring on Indian Creek by Grandpa's

What better to do on a Sunday afternnoon than get outside! Rance's Bears weren't playing until 6:30 so we were in the clear! We headed down the creek to explore around the old cabins. Here is Avery checking it out.

The cabin has seen better days. I remember when I was younger going inside when the roof and all the walls were still standing. Now the roof is caved in the the walls are falling down.

Cade found a deer skeleton by the creek and since he had his gun along we had a to take a hunting trophy picture.

More Exploring on Indian Creek

My siblings and I had such a great time playing on Indian Creek growing up, it is so great to be able to take my ababies to play there. The place is still very magical to me.

Me and my baby girl!

Avery looking at a bug.

Taking a rest and finally some green!!

Avery had a great time. It is so fun to take them both out and be able to all have a great time.

Loo king at something interesting.

Cade doing some more climbing. Lots of good places to climb among all the old dead trees and cttonwoods that fall over along the creek.

Fingerpaints

Thank goodness for Crayola and washable fingerpaints. It makes art projects in the house so much funner for me!

Their method of painting is pretty much smear all the colors together and smear it on the paper with both hands. Fun and effective.

Picnic in the Lower Vermandel

Labor Day Friday I managed to get muscle spasms in my lower back, but by Monday was feeling ready to get out and do something, the kids were as well so we decided to pack a picnic and go exploring on the ranch. We drove up to high point and looked around decided it was pretty windy up there for a picnic so we continued on down to the Lower Vermandel. We stoppped by the old corral and explored the coullee bottom.

The kids thought it was really fun to eat the picnic on the back of the flatbed

Cade loved all the exploring, he climbed all over the big rocks and found all kinds of cook rocks.

Avery had to climb up on the rock since Cade was up there too!

The way the sun is shining on Rance's head here it almost looks like he has a mohawk, Avery thought it was a great vantage point.
