Back to Work

My first day back at work was a little rough getting started but it turned out pretty good. I work up to feed Avery at about 2 in the morning and then couldn't get back to sleep. I was worried my alarm wouldn't wake me up, I wouldn't get everything done in the morning in time or that I would forget something I needed when I left for work. I cried when I had to leave it is so hard to leave them the first time. Rance was afraid I was going to go in and wake up Avery before I left, since he takes them down to the babysitter in the morning. I was nice and let them both sleep.

They had a memorial service at work for Lillian first thing in the morning so that was hard also. I can't imagine losing a sister. Mine mean so much to me and are my best friends.

The rest of the day was pretty smooth. I worked with some fun people and pretty soon it was time to go home! Hooray. Landa said the morning with Avery was a little rough but the afternoon went pretty well.

Today I am off then I work Wednesday and Thursday. I don't have any call until next weekend. Not really looking forward to that! Dad is branding some of the calves this afternoon so I will have to try to get Cade over to that for a little while as it is really nice out today.

Little Miss Avery and I enjoyed our last day alone at home together while Cade was at Landa's today since Monday I go back to work. These last twelve weeks have gone by so fast! Mostly the first 6 weeks are a big tired blur. It ha only been the last couple of weeks I quit taking a nap, of course with her there usually isn't time to get in a good nap anyway until I give up on taking one and start some other project. Then she sleeps good.

I put away most of her 0-3 month clothes and got out the 3-6 month clothes. I can't believe how much she has grown. She was such a little peanut when I brought her home. I remember when she was born I thought "wow she is little"

Cade went to bed early last night and slept in this morning. So we were slow getting him down to Landa's. The Fedex guy brought my double stroller. Hooray. My wonderful mother in law bought it for me. I picked a heavy duty one out with big wheels. Cade thought it was pretty great and wanted to ride around the house in it all morning. Avery wasn't excited about it but she didn't hate it either. She seats can recline pretty far back or sit up straight. Now Rance will want me to take the kids with me when I go for a walk! Notice how Cade has already discovered he can reach over to pester Avery. I should have got one with a bigger divider!

Avery is quite a talker sometimes and I managed to get some of it recorded. Of course she does all her really good talking when the camera is not on her. My kids seem to have a sixth sense for this sort of stuff.

Avery and I went into town yesterday and finally got a copy of her birth certificate. Then we went to the bank and opened her savings account. I took in my coin jar to start her fund, it is amazing how much accumulates in those. It wasn't that long ago that I took in the coin jar to start Cade's savings account. It won't be long before they both have more money than I do! Of course they don't have to pay bills and they don't get to spend the money either.

Avery is starting to hold her head up really well when she is laying up her stomach. Once she gets tired though she gets mad and wants to be done with tummy time.

I am just loving the stage Cade is in. It is so much fun. He is so busy learning new words and figuring out new things. Monkey see, monkey do. Sometimes I can't get enough just watching him. Watching his little lips as he drinks with a straw, the way they purse up around it...Precious! His face is getting so expressive, probably because I am always making big exaggerated expressions at him. He is giving the best hugs lately also. He puts his little arms around my neck and nestles his head in close to mine and just holds on tight. I love when I come back in the house from a walk and I have only been gone 45 minutes but he comes running, saying "Momma, momma" and gives me a big old hug. What a great boy I have!

Cade Has Got The Moves

Sorry this isn't oriented right. I took it with my camera and then couldnt figure out how to rotate it, but you get the idea. He really toned his dancing down since I had the camera out. But he gets really serious about his dancing sometimes especially when his Mom and Dad are encouraging him.

The Whole Family Goes to Town!

Last night Rance and I were sitting the living room when we heard the sound of the toilet lid being shut several times so I sent Rance to investigate since I was sitting in the chair with Avery. He came back laughing and said you have to see this. Cade was ripping one or two sheets of toilet paper off the roll, pretending to blow his nose and then putting it into the toilet. He would watch it get wet and if it wasn't getting wet fast enough he would push it down with his hand, close the lid and start all over. We watched him do this for several minutes until I could take it no longer and I busted up laughing.

Sunday Rance and I loaded up both of the kids and headed into town. We took a quick trip around Costco and then went to eat at the Olive Garden. This was our first time eating out together with all four of us. It went very well I was surprised. Cade was on his best behaviour.
It was so nice not to have to cook a meal or do dishes. Plus we had yummy tiramisu!

The Dirt Hill Goes Away

After living here for about a year and a half we finally got the dirt pile leveled out and planted with grass. Rance did a great job with it. I sure don't miss looking at it. I am so ready for a lawn! Although I think the dog misses sitting up there and looking around. Slowly but surely we are getting this place all put together. It sure takes a lot of time and money. Which we don't always have a lot of either as we have two darling children now.
Also in the above picture you can see our dog Cisco and one of her many legs! She seems to have an affinity for dead legs. I have found deer legs, calf legs, and even a rabbit leg. I guess you could even count fox legs because she drug a dead fox into the yard also this winter. YUCK!
Friday I gathered up the kids and we spent the morning over at Aunt Jami's. Cade had quite a time trying to stay steady on the trampoline. He didn't do to bad by himself but had a lot of trouble when Carter was trying to jump. He liked it best when Mom held him and we jumped together. He also got to ride on a swing and ho got to go down the slide on the swing set. He thought that was pretty cool.

Carter was over Wednesday for a quick visit and had a good time playing with Cade's bubbles. She also ate his fruit snacks. He wasn't home so he never knew the difference. Carter will be such a helpful big sis! It is fun to see Jami and Corinne's bellies getting bigger and mine not!

Cade was too busy reading his book in the tub to smile for me. This seems to be one of his new favorite faces to make. I think I only encourage him because it is always making me laugh. He looks so funny when he does it.

Avery was busy smiling and cooing with her Dad this morning before he left for work. She sure is getting a lot funner and a lot less fussy. I took her grocery shopping yesterday and had to carry her around the store so she wouldn't scream. That's always fun. Itmakes grocery shopping go a lot faster though.

Finally Cade smiles for the camera!

Happy Birthday to my Dad today!! He got a new puppy and
named him Jake. His dog Fred disapeared a while ago when he was out of town.
Love and prayers to Auntie Linda who got bucked off her horse yesterday helping Dad and Clint work cows
